What we expect of participants
ESA programs are designed to permit people to participate at reasonable cost in a study abroad experience:
-
ESA is a academic program designed to help you to explore Paris, French history and French culture while earning college credit through enrollment with one of our college partners.
-
We expect you to be considerate of fellow participants, faculty and guides. This includes respecting dorm rules (such as quiet hours), heeding ESA regulations, and listening politely to faculty & guides on walking tours and during lectures.
-
We expect you to be able to carry your own luggage into the dorm (including stairs) and on the weekend excursion (which may include using some public transportation with stairs).
-
As we often visit sites on foot or using public transportation, we expect you can walk normal city distances on various surfaces, including cobblestones or irregular pavement.
-
We expect you to realize that we have no control over strikes or closures. We do not transport your flight baggage and cannot make it appear magically if it is delayed or lost.
-
We expect you to be ready to deal with variable weather (e.g. heat, rain, etc), as well as urban settings.
-
We expect you to be punctual for activities lest you miss an activity.
-
During activities, we expect you to listen politely to faculty and guides.
